Denmark’s Best Intranet 2010
Chr. Hansen A/S took the prize 'Denmark’s Best Intranet 2010.' NNIT is proud to have been the primary partner for Chr. Hansen when designing and implementing the new intranet.
Chr. Hansen A/S is a global biotechnology company which provides natural ingredients to the food, beverage, dietary supplements, and agricultural industries. And with 2.200 employees in more than 30 countries daily accessing the intranet it has a high priority and is considered a valuable business tool. In order to accommodate the demands and the needs of the company, the intranet platform Websphere was replaced by Microsoft/SharePoint 2007 which is a more dynamic and flexible technological platform. One of the demands for Chr. Hansen was a platform, where functionalities can be added on an ongoing basis according to the business’ development.
The intranet is a focal point for communication, collaboration and the streamlining of working procedures. However, the success of any intranet ultimately depends on the acknowledgement and satisfaction of the users. Therefore usability and functionalities sustaining knowledge sharing and collaboration on a cross organisational level has been a key issue. Design, layout and logic are now consistent making the intranet more appealing for the users. Statistics already show that in comparison to the prior intranet the employees more frequently use the new intranet.
In the process NNIT has been deeply involved and spend many hours talking to Chr. Hansen’s employees in order to clarify demands and needs. Apart from having a deep knowledge about SharePoint, the NNIT team have contributed to the successful intranet due to their competencies, experience and an overall good chemistry with Chr. Hansen.
The redesigned intranet was launched in February 2009 and updated in December 2009.
The annual contest is arranged by IntraTeam. In 2008 Novo Nordisk took the prize and also here NNIT was a Microsoft/SharePoint partner.
