Erik Degn named new Corporate Vice President for NNIT’s operations division
NNIT has appointed 43 year old Erik Degn as the new Corporate Vice President of NNIT Operations. Erik will be responsible for the further development of NNIT’s operations and IT system support for customers.
On 1 May, Erik Degn will become NNIT Operations’ Corporate Vice President. Bringing a wealth of IT and management experience, Erik will be responsible for NNIT’s largest division, with approximately 550 employees working with the operation, maintenance and support of some of Denmark’s largest IT systems.
For the past 12 years, Erik Degn has been with Novo Nordisk, most recently as Corporate Vice President in the company’s internal IT function – IT & Corporate Development.
He was also responsible for building up the company’s professional IT organisation and for the operation of all global IT systems in Novo Nordisk. Prior to this, Erik was a manager in the former Novo Nordisk IT – now NNIT – so this appointment sees him returning to his previous workplace.
NNIT’s CEO Per Kogut explains the appointment: “We have been combing the market for an experienced person who can lift our operations area even further and continue the high quality of our solutions. Erik Degn is the right person. He has shown impressive results at Novo Nordisk, and he also has a great deal of experience with global sourcing, which fits perfectly with NNIT’s international efforts”.
At NNIT, Erik Degn’s task will be to continue and strengthen the success of NNIT Operations, which in recent years has undergone tremendous growth with a large number of new customers. This growth involves the pending construction of two new NNIT data centres, in Bagsvaerd and China. One of Erik’s first assignments will be to strengthen the structure of his department so it better reflects market developments – and what NNIT can offer customers.
And he’s looking forward to the new challenges:
“NNIT is known for its uncompromising focus on quality and highly qualified employees. I’ve followed NNIT’s growth with great interest in recent years and look forward to exchanging the client role with supplier responsibility. NNIT Operations has undergone massive development and I look forward to continuing this work and working together with customers,” says Erik.
Erik Degn replaces Sune Andersen, who is now Corporate Vice President for a new division – ERP Solutions, which from 1 May will gather NNIT’s ERP expertise into one unit. This is required to meet the large demand NNIT has experienced in this area in recent years.
Erik Degn has a Master’s degree in computer science and an MBA from Henley Business School. His CV includes:
2005 – 2009: Corporate Vice President, IT & Corporate Development, Novo Nordisk
2000 – 2005: Vice President, Business IT, Novo Nordisk
1997 – 2000: Project Director, Health Care IT, Novo Nordisk
